Audio card — where to plug my analogue amp?

First, sorry for a newbie question. Just received (as a gift) an Audiophile 192 audio card and got confused with its audio outputs. I'm using a 10-years-old shelf stereo (old PianoCraft model), besides I've got a pair of Beyerdynamic 770 PRO headphones (high impedance).

The card's got the following outputs
• SPDIF (my amp's got only analogue inputs),
• Two big mono jacks labelled ‘main outputs’ (“these should be connected to the analogue inputs of a 2-track recorder or can be used to connect to an alternate pair of powered speakers”) — erm, what are powered speakers? with amp integrated?
• Two big mono jacks labelled ‘monitor outputs’ (“connect these to your powered monitors. The output source of these outputs is the monitor mixer”) — again, the monitors are supposed to be “powered”.

What shall I do? I'd rather not buy another amp, my wide is already not very happy about me having the 770 pro ;D Is it ok to get an adapter and connect my shelf stereo or the headphones directly to one of the jack pairs?
