i don't have the 400hz resonance with both my r144s. They reside on the E GTR amps but used them on drums and as room mics.
Maybe if i put them in front of a keyboard amp with a moog playing a 400hz sine wave...
Seriously, don't believe everything on the net. Those MXL are great for the price.
