I owned a KSM32 for about a year. I wanted to like it more, but on everything I ever recorded with it, in every room and with every player, I preferred the sound of the Studio Projects B1. No joke! So I sold the Shure.
I don't doubt that it's a great vocal mic for the right voice, and from my recollection I'll bet that it's a good hi-hat mic, as Warren says. But that voice just never walked into my studio that year, and I'm happy with the SM81 on the hi hat.
