Enjoy the luxury of taking things like this for granted. This kind of hands on training with a pro is impossible where I live. I'd consider travelling from Ireland for such a thing if I wasn't getting married in September.
I'm holding out for a distressor too but you know what they say, teach a man to fish.....
Knowledge is key to good recordings/mixes, the next piece of gear you buy will not deliver you to your destination. If I sound pissed off I guess I am, moaning about the price of something like this annoys me.
