You're point about getting clients/completing projects is spot on...if I'm not meeting that threshold in my purchase decisions, what I have here is a hobby, not a business.

That said, I do regularly track a 5-piece drum kit with top and bottom snare mics, so that's 9 channels, and I'd love to add a room mic or two plus experiment with close mics on the cymbals. It would be nice for workflow not to share those channels with other mics in the iso room or DIs so I can keep my setups.

I just made a deal on a local 4424, by the way, and I'm picking it up tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.
