Umm, how do I do this? Should I just get a higher-end soundcard instead?

Do I need BOTH a better soundcard and a convertor?

Or do I get the RME and use it with my Audiophile?

I also plan on getting a good preamp and monitor controller to replace my mixer.
I would consider getting a multichannel soundcard by RME, MOTU, or Lynx. Preferably one with plenty of digital i/o built in. That way you can upgrade your converters later without having to change your souncard. I'm using a MOTU 2408mkII with a RADAR24 as the front/back end while tracking and a Lavry Blue 2chn D/A for mixing/mastering playback.
