I have heard about this, but so far no issues with mine... as I said, 3 years in usage.
The only issue is the design flaw where when you set it really REALLY low, the image shifts left completely. It doesnt bother me at all though, as it is in a such a low volume region, below what I would set it to check vocal relative volume sit-in-the-mix.
