I have a couple of those old American made 57's and they say "Unidyne III", "Model SM 57", and "Made in U.S.A." on the little band near the top of the mic. The new Mexican made mics have much larger "SM 57" lettering, and don't have any indication of "Made in.. ".

The old SM57's don't have switches, at least mine don't. Maybe that's a yet earlier model, or a variant?
