I'm using a Fireface800 atm for outboard loops. Started as well by needing 2 I/O for a dual mono/stereo compressor, now my 8 analog I/O is full (I actually need 10 already)

So I'd look at an 8 channel convertor for your 002R. The Fireface can function like that, but as said, you also pay for features you don't use.

Blowing it all on 2 channels I wouldn't do in your situation, as you're gonna want more analog outboard
