I have both the plug and the rack and the rack AT and the rack is really better, in fact far better. I use it for classical voice and jazz, where hearing the AT work is a big no-no! It really is inaudible when set to about 9. And you can do all that silly pitch-change stuff via MIDI. For total transparency, just track an AT version and if the voice (or whatever you are treating) is too far off pitch, comp it into the original. I have yet to find a use for the plug-in version.
