I'm looking to get a tube solution for my listening needs.

Basically, I'd love to get something to run an iPod through, but something with tubes.

Was curious to know, would I need a pre amp as well as a power amp? I'm thinking power amp should be enough but what do I know, I'm into recording music, not an audiophile! :D

if it's the case of a power amp, can someone recommend me a McIntosh tube amp that won't completely kill the budget? A McIntosh 275 would be in the "kill the budget" category. But I noticed there are lower model numbers. I'm looking to drive speakers about the size of Yamaha NS-10's so any recommendations would be appreciated.
