don't know how i missed this thread, but anyway...
yeah this album is one of the greats. i don't really think of it as having *crappy* sound, as mentioned earlier in the thread. i think it's kind of standard for the time (the beatles of course being the exception to the rule).
sound-wise, it's on par with *tommy* (which i feel is kind of a ripoff of VGPS anyway) but far more interesting. and any album with that much great mellotron work gets the
in my books.
anyone else notice how ray's singing on "picture book" kind of sounds like jeff tweedy?
