Thanks for all the great feedback guys! It so cool to hear these things after all the work that has gone into the GERM.
I wouldn't worry about life of the transistors. All the negatives with older germs seem to have been solved by making our own new ones. Much more consistent, less noise, less prone to overheating etc...
