Technology is moving ahead so fast that unless you are at the 'bleeding edge' of advances you can find yourself 'behind the 8-ball', quickly.
It's a great concept, just like Open Labs was and still is, but people just have too many options to choose from and unless you are really offering something that people feel is a 'must have', you (as a company) can just get 'drowned out' by all of the other 'bell & whistle' tech available today.
In the case of Music Computing, there going to have to figure out a way to offer a more convincing 'bang for your buck' product unless their business model is already setup to be more of a niche 'boutique' product.
With Sandy Bridge, Thunderbolt, 1TB platter tech, and the like, you really have to be creative and insightfully intuitive in today's market place. The competition is truly global on all fronts and it is steep !
