I had a client today that insists on recording his guitar before he records drums. I tried to talk him out of it... no dice.. so, what I did was load up digidesign CLICK, find the tempo he likes, then I pull up a kick, snare, hat, crash sample and create him a glorified click track... it was the least I could do..

Me: "Is that tempo cool?"
client: "it's perfect, I love it, just speed it up a little. but the tempo is perfect" ..
[this happened a few times..]


Me: "How did you like the ending of that song? is it supposed to be like that?"
Client: "yeah, I love it, let's go back and redo it"..
[I couldn't hold in my laugh at that point..]

Client: "Do you know what bot tyrant is?"
Me: [empty stare back at him]
Client: "butt turrent? what is it?"
Me: "are you trying to say bit torrent? if so, I know what it is"
Client: "No, it's this thing on the internet that you use to download software from all over the place, then it 'compresses it together'. Spy Torrent maybe?"
Me: "You don't actually own a computer do you?"
Client: "No, I want to get one so I can start making music for movies with Maya. My friend pirated it with bot turrets and it costs $30,000"..
Me: "Wow, Maya is the shit for movie sound tracks isn't it?"
