M 149 mic - Behringer tube pre - BEHRINGER tube compressor - AD Prodif PLUS (a 10 years old soundcard...16 bit), plug ins for processing (WAVES, Timeworks, ...). As I said: NO HIGH END AT ALL...
Now I'm planning for a whole new setup:
M149 (I'll keep it) - GREAT RIVER MEQ 1NV pre/eq - EL 8X Distressor compressor - AD/DA Aurora 16 with AES 16 - end I'm thinking also to a good analog summing solution.
For vocal tracking I can't decide myself between the Distressor EL 8X and the Purple Audio MC 77. I haven't listen to any of them, just what I've heard frum you, guys and from thelisteningsessions.com (but there they combine only mics and pres. No comps...)
In Romania you can't find any place to try out thees beauties...
