IMHO - I never use bass management systems while mixing a professional theatrical release project.
I do check my mixes on bass managed systems just to verify they translate for home theater and TV viewing.
If you dig through this thread.. you will find that I have written a lot on bass management. I also wrote an article for MIX Mag a number of years ago. it might still be on their website.
