Thanks for the detailed response. It is very helpful and I'm also downloading the manual now to have a better understanding of how I should(or can) hook everything up.

I didn't mean i wouldnt connect 1/2 to the patchbay - but rather I think I'd have the out 1/2 normal to the daw mix input on the Zen and in 1/2 normal to the mix out of the zen, rather that channel 1/2 or 17/18 (daw input 1/2).

I like your idea of using the 16 daw inputs for summing and doing all panning and level automation in the box. I imagine this is probably the best for my set up to not have to recall everything on a channel that is not automated. I also do all my reverb and delay sends ITB so for now that should be fine.

I checked out your site and the studio looks great! Nice work, also the boat studio looks like a lot of fun!
