I bought it to use as an effect on things I record in Blumlein.
i.e. Blumlein OH on trap kit was too close but had to be to get a focused sound. During the mix I instantiate Monitor on the OH stereo pair and tweak to get a stronger and better stereo image and middle.
Very useful tool, I love what it can do for the stereo field.
