The reason I want to use cymbal stands as mic stands is that I have a bunch laying around! And you can usually get 5-8 crappy ones on CL for under $100, and those are WAY more sturdy than the cheap proline stands I have.
Do you know anywhere that sells the piece that screws onto the cymbal stand threads so you can attach a mic clip? I have DW9000 stands just like Them Crooked Vultures.
