| 16-bit AES input into 24-bit session?
So, a friend has a beautiful-sounding Prism AD-1 converter that I can basically have, but I'd like to know if there are any issues with running a 16-bit AES signal into a 24-bit ProTools session?
Does ProTools just 'zero-pad' the AES input to create a 24-bit audio file? How does it know? I presume there is some kind of 'flag' in the AES stream, to signify bit depth, but how does PT deal with it?
