Right now I have an imac i7, Duet interface and Rode NT-1a. That's it nothing else, and I'm using garageband.
Would it be worth the money to get the Rode NT-1A modded by Michael Joly (I've seen some positive reviews and I've got the rode nt-1a anyway) and the Duet replaced by a more expensive interface such as the metric halo ULN 2? And some DIY treatment to my room?
I've had the Duet for a short while and the sound is a bit muffled, but that could be the mic, right? I've read everywhere that the Duet is supposed to be super clean.
I know it might seem outrageous to buy a 1500 euro interface, but I want to get the stuff I need right now and not keep upgrading. I'm a noob when it comes to recording. All I want is to record at home, acoustic guitar and vocals. At the moment I just record into garageband with my equipment. Should I switch to LOGIC 9, get a good book and learn how to use logic?
