As said it was moreso about who can make a living or partly a living out of their music.
I used to word hobbyist as opposed amatur as an amatur i thought was someone who was moreso starting out at this. Where as someone can be more passionate about their hobby then their profession (i know i am).
This is the definition of the work hobby from wiki
A
hobby is an activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure or relaxation, typically done during one's
leisure time.
This says to me if you work during the day then do music for no financial gain in their spare time then you must be a hobbyist, it doesnt mean that you arent a talented musician
