The PBC-6a has a really cool "opto-ish" [using a VCA in feedback configuration] smoothing reaction with a very attractive mellowing of top end, [being that this unit allows for completely non-linear compression] that I would describe as softer with a nice non-deforming creaminess and color to it. The subtle tweaks of this unit go a ALONG way towards tone shaping and think its a smoking little box for the asking price. |
