Male Vocal

Hi Ollie, I'm new here but it sounds like u r a diy home/garage/Indy recording engineer like me. Some tips might be 1st isolate the vocals from the pc n mixers n hard drive fans (a closet or bathroom wc works as long as quiet) try side mic'ing and phase inversion on a large diaphram mic w a shot gun sm 57 or something. Ribbon mics r used for higher spl's. Try a cheap compressor pre depending on budget n experience to compress the louder parts n make sure the vocalist has good mic technique keeping close on intimate parts. It should make the vocals pop a bit more.

www.myspace.com/drewfinn will check back n describe some of what/how I did recordings good luck!
