The ensoniq asr10 is a good choice.I done some tests and it certainly colours the sound.I found it brings out percussion like metallic sounds but you loose some hi fi ness which is not always a bad thing.And of course youve got the fx as well.You can get a phat distortion overloading The original eps.Ive heard the akai s950 can be used effectivley also.Probably not worth buying the s3000 just for this reason tho.
