Here's the details of my very unfortunate expierence with Big City Music
Around August 16th I called and made an appointment to bring in my Minimoog for repair. I told the girl working there that the synth turned on and filter section seemed to be working fine, however the Oscillator section did not have any output. She assured me that they could work on it and have it back in a few weeks. She did mention the tech was out sick, but should be back in a few days. She also said she would probably be the one working on it anyway, so no worries. Well a few weeks goes by and no calls, so I call and get told the tech is still out sick. Now fast forward to Sept. 21st....no calls, so I call and am told the tech is still out sick and they haven't even looked at it. Ok, so now fast-forward to today Sept. 27th....a hole month and 1/2 later, not one call from them with an update. So I call and get the owner, who actually asks me "well, what's wrong with it?" I tell him to look at his own damn work order and read it! He tells me they haven't looked at it and probably shouldn't because "it could be costly and they don't like working on things that have had repairs in the past". I tell him I'm willing to pay good money for good service and how do you know it's had past repairs if you haven't even opened it? He makes a bunch or silly excuses and tries to blame it on the girl working for him. I would avoid them like the plague. Going to try Greg at Audio Rehab. Will let you know how it works out.
