i use a separate machine just for melodyne. output you vocals and a rough mix of the music, midi tempo map..... then tune away... trying to lock it to protools never worked for me.. i just run it standalone
melodyne sounds the best, so much control.. i recently hired a guy that has a music degree and taught him how to use it.. all he does is tune shit all day long.. adds harmony if needed.. ive never had vocals sound so good and it sounds real.
