I received NFR copies of Reason / Record and am quite impressed. They don't tout it as a DAW so comparisons to legit DAW's may be a bit unfair at this juncture. I can say it is incredibly intuitive and easy to use and the on board sounds are great except for the drums (which I will Refill or patch BFD somehow). I heard some say the mixer sounds bad but I think it sounds great. I don't like having to rewire to get VST support but can live with that. One thing I love though is it hasn't crashed on me once. I love Cubase but I get at least 4 or 5 crashes a week which pisses me off. It seamlessly rewires and syncs to Cubase and has been a joy to work with. For my typical needs, I do not need a bloated program and this suite fits the bill.
