Well, not to say that you shouldn't go for the mod, because it is useful, but...i was just comparing hi cut in to hi cut out on my pearlman, and i have to say that the hi end on that mic is so cool...so many other mics seem to have something up there that needs surgery, but the pearlman's un-modded hi end is just sweet fizzy cream. the kind one tries to but seldom gets from eq.
i think with vocals it's likely to be that if you record with the hi cut...you'll be adding it back in the mix....with the hi cut out, you're kinda there.
