The T60 line, especially the T60p should be equipped with TI controller chips.
If the seller doesn't know, he can find out in the device manager:
System -> (Hardware ->) Device Manager -> then right click on the entry of the FireWire controller -> Properties -> Details tab
there is an entry for manufacturer or the like (I'm not in front of my T60p right now). If it's a TI, it contains something along the lines of "Texas Instruments..."
