At least with the shallow and violent/ignorant crap, the people making them seem to do it with conviction--they like singing about bitches and ho's, bling bling, getting baked, doing a drive-by, or how good sex feels. With the wannabe rockers--it's a bunch of ****ing priviledged kids who never suffered a day in their lives, probably never had a real job, and they're writing about personal demons and struggles? Give me a ****ing break. Even the songs about relationships are trying hard to be deep but still about as shallow as a kiddie pool. Not saying you must have suffered in life to write great songs, but these kids are not even clever or well-read. Look at the kind of songs guys like Morrissey wrote in his 20's. At least sound like you've lived a life or have had compelling ideas or thoughts about the world we live in.
