I've used Ableton Live, Reaper, Acid with some big name VSTs and I've never gotten better mixes than with Record. The mixer is awesome.
I bought Record just so that I could get the free upgrade to Reason 5 (upgrade was more or less the same price as Record for Reason owners), so I thought I'd give it a shot. Haven't looked back since. I still use Reaper, but Record has become my main tool.
