I altered the design a bit from my last posting here, fortunately the metalwork subcontractor hadn't started doing their job when I decided to add another function.
The new feature is the Overshoot switch. It's marked OVSH on the front panel. When the function is turned off, the timing circuit is a regular first order circuit: pots for attack and release and one capacitor. The OVSH mode adds another RC stage and changes the compression reaction considerably. With the fastest attack there's an overshoot (overreaction) of compression, lenghtening of the attack time creates a big lag in compression that gives massive punchy attack without sounding squished, the setting is somewhat smoother.
The OFF position sounds very different, faster and rawer.
