i've had a back and forth w/various companies who use iLok as copy protection and basically it ends up w/them saying "sorry you feel that way".
which is a bummer. i think iloks are fine if you have it plugged into a desktop and never leave your studio.. but when it comes to using one on a laptop and traveling... it's a PITA since they break/get lost/stolen etc and that's a bummer and iLok's ZDT is a joke. i think it'd be great if that when you bought some plugs that use iLok that they would allow a serial install for one other computer (a laptop) as well as the iLok auth for the desktop. that way i wouldn't have to worry about someone walking off w/my iLok when playing live etc...
but that's just my thoughts and probably a thread derail will follow but it's a moot point since we all know the answer is a big fat "sorry you feel that way" from software manufacturers.
