Thanks for your reply. I guess observing both I focused more on similarities rather than differences. Both are not an analog console, but a plugin. Both emulate analog channels. What impacts the sound and is shared by both is a drive knob and a knob for choosing "api-ish" or "neve-ish" or "ssl-ish" or whatever. Both are subtle. Where, when, and how to use them follow similar thought processes apparently. And so on...
But as I said, I may be looking at the same thing with a different focus. Differences vs similarities. Glass half-full half-empty kinda thing.
