well, limited in the sense that it doesn't have loads of busses/sends ala ssl, etc.[but hey,if you're doing hybrid these consoles are little sonic powerhouses].
still .anywhere from 4 to 8 busses /4-6 aux sends vs maybe 8/16- 8 send and up on an 80 series.
also, don't know if you can get Automation for that width fader..maybe Paul Wolff would[ for a price].
for rock and roll this console will kill any summing mixer deal out there.the eq's are great..blah blah.
not much around sonically comparing for under 38k..maybe a vintage API 1604 or maybe Neotek..although I'd take the Neve anyday of the week...or new unloaded 1608[have one here],Rupert 5088,etc..
as far as research is concerned, imo,if that console is in good shape mechanically, it won't be for sale for very long..
I track a lot on the 5315 and then mix on the API..killer.

for a recent taste of what a nice 53 series can do..go listen to the stuff Joel Hamilton[5316] did w/ the Blakroc record or John Vanderslice's "Tiny Telephone" studio..nuff said.
