So if the song is in C and I want phatty bass, I set the Process control to a center frequency of 130 Hz (it's 131Hz on the chart). Hit the Compression a few db, then adjust the Mix control to taste. I often set it at 50% for the parallel compression effect.
The Mix Bass 'Process' creates harmonics, so I figure it can't to hurt to have the harmonics in tune with the song. Seems to work so far. I turned the Ibis chart into a pdf. Hope Dave doesn't mind. Here it is. |
