I think how 'real' a medium sounds depends on each person's individual preference for which aspects of reality are going to be glossed over and which ones will receive a lot of attention.

John Atkinson already did this at stereophile..

Real VS Recorded Sound

in terms of "reality" they are all compromised(of course he and most other 'technical' types would say the digital captures are "less" compromised). Therefore it is best to judge them on their own merits, and not compare them to a live event.
