So I heard the Membrane is in the front of the panel....but what is the idea?

I mean, how the panel can absorb sound with that thin plastic layer?

and how it works? what actually the membrane does and much better that without it?

So a bass trap of Owen Corning 703 with FKR at the front of the panel is better than without it?
