Stevep:
I built my first Studio a year ago. With a rather small budget, i built a 25x17feet studio with control room and tracking room. Aiming at demos and albums for local artists, basically getting experience. And maybe I`ll renovate a farm house in 5-10 years if there`s enough work, and I`m good enough to make it worth it. Fun to see a larger scale set-up being buildt.
I Myself didn`t do a whole lot of sound proofing. I live on a farm, at least 10 minutes from the nearest highway, and my animals are never enar the studio. I Built two layers of drywall with air mass between them. And four layers between the control and tracking rooms. 3 Layer windows. Do you think this is good enough when there is nothing generating any noise from outside?
ON the inside the walls are covered with layers of carpeting, and then large drapes. What do you think about that way of doing things? It`s lightyears from your incredible project, but this is low budget. (Everything set me back about 50k).
