for a cheap fix that just might surprise you, try Colortone, a plugin by tritone digital....All kinds of Impulse Responses available. the one that i'm tripping on right now is the IR of the Portico tape emulator. Check out the 7.5 ips , but also the 15 ips.
also, i love the tubetech cl1b (not a plugin)
