Paul, the Coleman tip is clever. I am concerned about not sacrificing anything, not even a hair of quality and performance (i.e. introduce noise, worse channel separation, whatever) of microphones and mic preamps in the process. I wonder if other slutz use the Coleman - a pretty popular device I guess - for this. This would also result in actually tracking through it with the chosen mic/pre combo, unless you then actually repatch for the purpose.
