That's not the heads, it's overall speed determined by the capstan. Or, more to the point, that's just analog(ue) tape!
(fwiw, I'd never heard of a 1/2" MX5050 either. 1/4" 2-trk, 1/4" 4-trk or 1/4" 1/4 trk - yes).
