What monitors do you use?

Your mix position should be 6 to 6 1/2 feet from the wall in front of you. I recommend that you place the monitors on stands behind the console so that they fire over the top of the workstation. Place some Auralex on the flats where 'they' intended for you to put your speakers and possibly on the back of the workstation facing the speakers.

Can you put the stands so that they are on a line about 55 inches in front of you? Separate the speakers (center to center) 63 1/2 inches. This will give you your equilateral triangle.

You may need to angle them down so that they point directly at the operator.

Is this doable in your situation?
