Allen and Heath is pretty good about general service support to keep products working, but speaking from experience, console designers don't generally throw engineering effort at questions about hot rodding old products.
Depending on how old the product is, they have probably made improvements in subsequent generations and moved on. These improvements are rarely simple to cut into an older unit.
If interested you might want to get schematics of newer generation models and look for what's different. These changes made by the guys with intimate understanding of the designs involved, could be instructive.
