One small thing I know is that they needed custom interfaces that synced the Prophet 5s to the sequencer; at the time, no such device was available, and New Order employed Ron Lebar for this task.

This is a quote from a resume Ron sent me some years ago:

For the group ‘New Order’ 2 Prophet Fives were fitted with an interface to synchronise the player to a drum machine or sequencer. These were used on a number of record tracks to good effect.
As you can guess, Ron's made a lot of custom hardware for people over the years (Vince Clark's dome studio is one client), so he didn't go into much detail as it would go on for ages.

Maybe I'll ask Ron for more info next time we speak.
