| 414 overheads? better Se3 ksm84?, beyerdynamic
Hello,
I have AKG 414 ULS and TLII. I am surprised because many people say that they are very good for overheads. However, I think it must be in nice acoustics conditions, because at home sound too much agresive. Now, When I tried another mic,SE Electronics SE3, I discover a new world about recording overheads. It is a small diaphragm mic and it sound more musical and soft. I use 414 ULS only to fat this sound.
However SE3 sound like Neumann ksm84, but SE3 it is a cheaper mic and the sound it is not so round and good than Neumann.
Do you think if it is worth a more expensive like neumann (too expensive for me), or beyer dynamic mc930 (more possible for me)?
Here is one of my songs with Se electronics Se3 overheads, sm57 snare, akg d112 kick, akg 414 uls voice etc... Suggestions will be wellcomed
