As the latency changes, some audio gets skipped or reintroduced; you'll need to pause and replay Logic for it to update the latency compensation.

The Linear Phase setting is also distorting on this particular channel strip. I'm not clipping on the way in or out of the plug and it sounds like a "bacon frying" kind of noise.

Can I hear a clip? And a screenshot of your settings? That sounds very odd.
