Thanks guys, I will try to make sure to use good quality connectors. I was on the Neutrik site having a look at the large variety of XLR Chassis Connectors. It's actually quite hard to find anywhere selling the gold contact female XLR connectors.
As for having two wallboxes in the live room - I guess that wouldn't really be much of an extra effort apart from buying a second chassis and probably a few meters extra multicore. I'll think about it, but I will definitely run some conduit to the opposite end of the live room incase I do go for that option.
